My grandfather (Mijn opa)

My name is Aebe. I was named after my grandfather, who I unfortunately never got to meet. He passed away long before I was born. I don’t know much about him, but I do have this old photo of him that I cherish.

I’ve decided to put this photo on my website, as the favicon, as a way to honor his memory. I think it’s a fitting tribute, as the favicon is a small but important part of a website, just like my grandfather was a small but important part of my family history.

I’m not sure what my grandfather would think of me naming my website after him. But I hope he would be proud. I hope he would be proud of the man I’ve become.

I’m still learning about my grandfather, but I’m glad that I have this photo to help me remember him. I’m also glad that I can share this photo with others, so that they can learn about him too.

I hope that I can keep his memory alive.

Aebe’s Recommendations Part 1: Two of My Favorite Things (and a Tale of a Theft!)

Hello from Aebe.nl! I start with a round of “Aebe’s Recommendations,” and this is part 1, and it comes with a rather unbelievable story… and a shake of the head at the audacity of some people.

I’m all about sharing my favorite finds with you, and these two items have been making my retired life even better. But, as you’ll soon see, I seem to be having some terrible luck holding onto one of them!

1. Bosch PMF 220 CE Multifunction Tool: A DIY Dream

This little powerhouse is like the Swiss Army knife of power tools. Sanding, sawing, grinding, scraping… you name it, this tool can handle it.

I’ve been using it for everything from removing old grout (a surprisingly satisfying task, by the way) to trimming door frames. It’s incredibly versatile and easy to use, even for someone like me who’s more of a “computer guy” than a handyman.

If you’re looking for a tool that can tackle a wide range of DIY tasks, I highly recommend checking out the Bosch PMF 220 CE. You can find it on Amazon here: https://amzn.to/4dKWOkD

2. The JOYROOM Mobile Phone Holder for Bicycle: Stolen, but Still Amazing!

Okay, here’s where the story takes a turn for the unbelievable. I did buy this awesome JOYROOM bike phone holder and  I really like it? Perfect for navigation, easy to get you phone out.

Well, it’s was stolen on the camping. Yes, really.

It was stolen right off my bike while it was parked under a roof at a campsite… during bad stormy weather ! You’d think the thief would have had bigger things to worry about, like, you know, not getting struck by lightning or something like that.

But apparently, the opportunity to steal a 15-euro phone holder was just too tempting to resist. Honestly, some people!

Despite its appeal to petty thieves, I still can’t recommend this phone holder enough. It’s that good. The anti-shake feature is fantastic, keeping my phone stable even on bumpy roads. No more blurry photos or shaky videos! If you’re a fellow cycling enthusiast, just be sure to keep a close eye on it!

You can find it (again!) on Amazon here: https://amzn.to/4f564RY

That’s it for this rather unbelievable edition of “Aebe’s Recommendations”! I hope you enjoyed the story and the recommendations. Stay tuned for more of my favorite things (that I’ll try my best to keep hold of!), coming soon!
